Treat Minor Illnesses With Emergency Centers

Emergency Centers have become increasingly popular in the past decade. These “mini” Emergency Rooms are designed to treat minor problems that really shouldn’t be seen in the Emergency Room. Many parents take their sick children to Emergency Centers for the lingering cough, fever, vomiting, runny nose and even for broken bones. Adults can use an Emergency Center to repair a fracture, get a health examination, receive sutures and take care of any infections, as long as the infection is not systemic. Someone who comes to an Emergency Center with a serious illness such as a heart attack, stroke, compound fracture, respiratory issues or organ failure, will have to be transferred to the Emergency Room that is associated with the Emergency Center.
